Tracker Oversight Committee Documentation Home Page
The Mu2e Project completed
its preliminary design phase and achieved its DOE CD-2/3b sign-off in March
2015. Critical to the experiment is the Straw Tube Tracking detector, which
provides the primary momentum measurement of the outgoing electron in the Muon
to electron conversion. The tracker must identify and measure 105 MeV/c
electrons while rejecting backgrounds, and it must provide this functionality
while situated in the evacuated bore of the superconducting solenoid that
provides a uniform 1 Tesla magnetic field. The tracker system represent
significant cost, schedule, and technical challenges to the project. To help
mitigate these technical risks, the Tracker Oversight Committee (TOC) was
formed. This web page collects information useful to the committee.
